What is the best time to visit Alaska?
Early May through Mid-September,  is typically when most ship sail to and from Alaska and we think early June is one of the best times to visit the state.  But, any month is a good month to visit Alaska, but the end of May and beginning of June offers some of the best weather.
Which cruise lines go to Alaska?
Alaska is one of the most popular cruise destinations around, and as a result almost all cruise lines head to Alaska during the summer. Princess & Holland America have the most experience in the region and offer not only cruises, but cruise tours that range from 3 -10 day land tours + 7 day cruise ). Royal Caribbean, Regent, Oceania, Viking and Norwegian cruise line also sail the waters of Alaska.  To narrow down your choices, browse this web site and give us a call at 800.365.1445. The call is free and so is the advice.

What are some things to do in Alaska?
You can helicopter land on glaciers, hike Denali, fish for salmon, go dogsledding or pan for gold, visit cultural sites, and yes, shop for local craft-made items - and everything in between. For more ideas: Check out some of the >> Best Alaska Shore Excursions.

Do you need a passport to take a cruise to Alaska?
You don't need a passport on a sailing that begins and ends in the same U.S. port. Examples include sailings that depart and return to Seattle, Los Angeles or San Francisco sailings. If you arrive or depart from Vancouver, Canada, or any Canadian port of call. ( by air or by sea ) you will need to bring your passport, the same is true,  if your itinerary includes a visit to Canada's Yukon Territory. It's best to bring that passport regardless of your itinerary. Should you need to depart and return home earlier than expected, ( illness, injury etc ) you may have to transit through Canada and a passport is required.

What should I pack for a cruise to Alaska?
Weather changes frequently in Alaska, it can vary from hot in Juneau, cool in Ketchikan or windy in Skagway, or just perfect in all ports-of-call. Bring a waterproof windbreaker, a jacket, gloves, hats and a sweater or two. For more information, check out our: >> What to Pack for an Alaska Cruise list.
